Daily Doses · From an Unlicensed Squirrel
Stay twitchy, my friends.
A free 5-day field guide

You're not
broken.
You're adapted.

A clinical-grade course for the achievers, helpers, perfectionists, and the ones who hold it all together while quietly running on empty. Endorsed by an unlicensed squirrel. Written by a licensed human.

Five short emails. About ten minutes each. The squirrel will not spam you (he can't operate the unsubscribe button anyway).

What's inside

Five days. About ten minutes each. Mostly clinical. Occasionally squirrel.

No fluff. No transformation promises. No stock photos of women drinking tea by a window.

Day 01

The self-assessment you didn't know you needed.

Twenty-five questions that identify your specific high-functioning trauma profile across five domains. Most readers find it the most clarifying ten minutes they've spent in years.

The unlicensed squirrel recommends you do not panic if you score high. Catastrophizing is, ironically, one of the questions.
Day 02

Why your “biggest strengths” are adaptations. The brilliant kind.

The reframe that changes everything. Your perfectionism, hyper-independence, control, and capacity to perform under pressure were not character traits. They were survival strategies your nervous system built — and they worked. The cost is what's showing up now.

Day 03

How your body has been keeping score.

The HPA axis, allostatic load, and the gut-brain axis in plain language. Why “I'm fine” is sometimes accurate and sometimes a story your nervous system tells to keep moving. What the autoimmune flare, the 3 a.m. wake-up, and the chronic tension are actually about.

Day 04

Why “just set boundaries” has never worked for you.

The fawn response, people-pleasing, and the calibration ladder. Why every boundaries book has felt like it was written for someone else. What changes when you stop trying to “set” them and start tolerating the activation that follows the no.

Day 05

What's possible for the ones who hold it all together.

The five-phase arc of actual recovery — recognition, regulation, reclamation, reconnection, reorientation — and where you are in it. A practice designed specifically for nervous systems like yours. And what comes after the field guide, if you want it.

Who this is for

Read this if you've ever been called the strong one and quietly resented it.

Some of these may sound familiar. If more than three do, you're in the right place.

About the squirrel. And the human.

One of us is licensed. The other is funnier.

The unlicensed squirrel is the comedy department. Twitchy. Deeply opinionated. He opens every video with time for your daily dose from an unlicensed squirrel, hands out a one-liner, and closes with we're now wired and inspired. Stay twitchy, my friends. He has no clinical training and is, importantly, a squirrel.

The field guide was written by Amanda D. Langford, PMHNP-BC — a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. The clinical work is evidence-based, trauma-informed, and calibrated against the substantial overclaim of popular trauma writing. It does not promise transformation. It teaches you what is actually happening and walks you through the work.

Five days. Free. Read it, ignore it, forward it to the friend you've been worried about. The squirrel doesn't mind.

No upsells in the first five emails. After that, occasional letters from the licensed human. Unsubscribe whenever.
